Climate: Experiences high rainfall (Annual rainfall > 200 cm) and high temperatures throughout the year (e.g., Equatorial climate).

Vegetation: Trees grow to great heights (often over 60 meters) with a dense, multi-layered canopy, resulting in very little sunlight reaching the forest floor.

Characteristics: Lush, dense vegetation, trees are generally broad-leaved and evergreen (no distinct dry season for shedding leaves). Includes valuable timber species.

Location in India: Found along the Western Ghats, parts of Northeast India (Assam, Nagaland), and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
